Help get Florence a new hip

We have employed Florence since we came to live in Nairobi seven years ago. Those of you who have visited us here will appreciate her striking spirit and generous nature, and it is this strength of character that has, like so many kenyans, enabled her to care for her extended family through times which have been very hard for her. Unsuprisingly she struggles to find the means to support her family, so that when she dicovered that without an urgent hip-replacement operation she would be unable to walk, and unable to work, the life of herself and her family has been put in serious jeopardy. She is fifty years old and has suffered from a hip problem since she was a child, so she's no stranger to physical pain, but this latest discovery has presented her with an impossible situation. She desperately needs help. The cost of the operation is Ksh.280,000. We can support her through her convalescence and help her to reach retirement, but the cost of the operation is beyond our means. Whatever you can afford to give will help not just Florence but her dozen or more dependents.
